Schubert’s Friends

This picture by Moritz von Schwind is part of the legend of Schubert. There he is, sat at the piano, surrounded by his friends. Although the drawing is a fiction created in 1868, it harks back to the sociable and Gemütlich arena in which Schubert moved. But who are all the other people in the picture?
